Requirements and Qualifications
Volunteers at Houston Public Library must be at least 14 years old. Those who are 18 or older are required to consent to a criminal background check. It's important to note that applicants seeking court-ordered volunteer hours are not eligible. As a volunteer, you will be expected to adhere to the library's policies, attend an orientation session, and follow the specific description of your volunteer role. Additionally, maintaining a consistent work schedule is essential. Please be aware that the library is not liable for any injuries that might occur.
