Am I Eligible?
 

You are eligible to schedule an appointment with us if at least one of the conditions below are true:

   You are applying for your first U.S. passport.

   You are under the age of 16.

   Your previous U.S. passport:

          Was issued when you were under age 16.

          Was lost, stolen or damaged.

          Was issued more than 15 years ago.

If none of the above applies, you may be eligible to renew your passport by mail using Form DS-82.

I Qualify, What's Next?

STEP 1
Complete a passport application in black ink prior to arrival. Download form DS-11
STEP 2
Bring two separate payments payable to City of Houston and U.S. Department of State.
STEP 3
Have an original and one photocopy of your proof of citizenship and identification.

 

 

City of Houston Application Acceptance Fees:
The non-refundable fee is $35 plus $10 for a photo if needed. Payable by check, money order or credit card to "City of Houston".

 

U.S. Department of State Processing Fees:
Use the Fee Calculator to verify your State Department Passport Fees at travel.state.gov. Payable via check or money order to “U.S. Department of State”.

You are able to take your passport photo at one of our 6 acceptance facilities.

All legal guardians must be present or submit a consent form. Valid ID is required for ages 16+.

PROCESSING TIMES
Processing times may vary depending on time of year, so apply as early as possible.

Schedule your appointment up to 2 weeks in advance and arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. New appointments open up at the top of the hour and at every half hour during hours of service. Please try again if no dates are available. For questions, call us at 832-393-7277 (PASS)!
