Family History Research Center Archive

The Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library Campus is dedicated to helping visitors discover and learn more about their family history and ancestral roots. In addition to our extensive book, microprint, and periodical collections. The FHRC also has a growing number of digital collections which you will discover here. Highlights include the City of Houston Death Certificate Collection (1874-1900), as well as thousands of other books that have been digitized in partnership with FamilySearch International. You can also find unique photos, documents, letters, and correspondence that are selections from our in-house Vertical File Collection, as well as historical photos and documents about the William Lockhart Clayton Family, for whom our library is named. Please check back often for more additions to these unique digital collections!
