Flowers and Birds Collection
January 10, 2020 – February 28, 2020
Central Library | 1st Floor Gallery

Flowers and Birds Collection is a collection of photography by Liang Fojin and poetry chosen by Chen Wei. The well-known, Chinese classical poems were chosen to express the meaning of the photographic works and then written in Chinese calligraphy by Jin Encheng. This exhibit shows the essence of photography, the artistic conception of classical poetry and the inherent unique beauty of traditional calligraphy.

The exhibit is presented by the Houston-Shenzhen Sister City Association and curated by Audrey Duan, President of Houston-Shenzhen Sister City Association. The poems were translated into English by Allen Tiller and Patrick Duan, two members of the Houston-Shenzhen Sister City Association’s Board of Directors.

The Houston-Shenzhen Sister City Association promotes business, cultural understanding and friendship between two of the world’s most dynamic cities, Houston, Texas and Shenzhen, China. For more information on the Houston-Shenzhen Sister City Association, please visit http://www.houstonshenzhen.org.
