Meet Houston's Authors
I am a national and international slam poet, model, activist, actress, business professional, and a budding new author. My poetry has been published in several national and international anthologies of poetry. Imagery is my specialty and you will enjoy watching this story develop.
I became a writer in the hopes of helping end the cycle of child abuse and to show parents and children how to express their feelings being kind, respectful and loving. My book I’m Glad I’m Me, Weaving the Thread of Love From Generation to Generation is a parenting book disguised as a children’s book that accomplishes both goals.
Bailey C. Moore
I became a writer because I wanted to write stories that kids my age could relate to about issues in life. I have been writing since I was 7 years old. You can find my books on my website. You can follow me on Instagram and Facebook at B-MOORE-U Publishing.
I was inspired by life, movies, people, artists. I have been writing for six years now. Writing is my main occupation. I am active in social media. My books can be found on Amazon.
My first book is Parents Against Predators. I am the founder of Parents Against Predators 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and have a partnership with Houston Police Department Executive Chief Finner. You can find me on social media at Parents Against Predators Houston.
Ve Ce Dottie
I started to write greeting cards for my friends after being wheel-chair bound and confined to my home recovering from a spinal injury. I direct the non-profit Tis the Season With a Special Kind of Reason, Inc. I enjoy public speaking and giving back to underserved communities and am currently working on my next book.
I became a writer because I had so much I wanted to say, but was too shy to speak it, so I decided to write about it. I took interest in writing in the 8th grade when I began to write stories. From theory I've written several scripts and a few blogs. I’ve written/directed and produced a story about Acres homes called 100 Years Later.
Becoming an author has been a dream of mine since a teen. I have been developing ideas and topics for a long, long time. But one day I knew my messages could and would inspire others when shared, so I became an author.
As soon as Minette Lauren was old enough to write, she composed a play in one act about the love of Seth and Beth, inspired by the movie, Gone with the Wind. Not deterred by the play’s questionable success, she has been in love with writing ever since. Lauren now resides in Texas, where she co-writes with good friend Zoe Tasia under the pen name, Zari Reede.
As a child, Zoe Tasia idolized Barbara Eden, star of I Dream of Jeannie. However, she would have ditched the astronaut and married Captain Kirk. She can't blink and make magic nor did she wed a Starfleet officer. Instead, life had something better in store for her: she explores her imagination as a writer. Zoe now resides in Texas, where she co-writes with good friend Minette Lauren under the pen name, Zari Reede.
I’ve been writing for fun now and then for pretty much my whole life, but it’s only been in the last 10 years or so that I’ve written any fiction that was, what I’d call, semi-serious or possibly intended for an audience. I’ve been a journalist since I graduated college but that’s a different kind of writing and editing. I can be found @trends_to_reed on Twitter, @miker0130 on Instagram, and "Songs From Richmond Avenue" on Facebook.
