hoopla

Hoopla provides streaming and downloadable movies, TV shows, music, e-books, e-audiobooks, and graphic novels. Use your library card to sign up and create an account, then edit account settings to add library name (Houston Public Library, library card number, and PIN before browsing or checking out. In response to COVID-19, the number of hoopla checkouts that Library customers are allowed per calendar month has temporarily been increased to 10. You can check out videos for 72 hours, music for 7 days, and e-books, e-audiobooks, graphic novels check out for 21 days.*

National Geographic Kids

National Geographic Kids is a kid friendly version of the iconic magazine. This searchable database contains full issues of National Geographic Kids magazine from 2009 to present (with a 3 month embargo). It also contains hundreds of National Geographic Kids books, videos, and images.*

Texas Talking Book Program

The Talking Book Program povides free library services for qualifying Texans with blindness or visual, physical, or reading disabilities. Registered TBP users may borrow books and magazines in digital audio, Braille, and large print. Materials and playback machines are mailed to your door, completely free of charge. Complete an application and you will be contacted to create an account. The TBP is a program of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, provided in conjuction with the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) in Washington, DC, a program administered by the Library of Congress.
