Join Houston Grand Opera’s final Veterans Songbook writing workshop at the Central Library on Mondays in November from 5:30-7:00 PM.

This unique four-week workshop celebrates self-expression through sharing stories. Led by a writer from Writers in the Schools (WITS), participants will be encouraged to explore written and verbal storytelling. A Houston Grand Opera composer will write new songs inspired by the stories shared. Offered in English and Spanish.

About the Veterans Songbook
Houston Grand Opera’s multiyear Veterans Songbook initiative gives voice to the stories of Houston-based men and women who have served our country and to the stories of their loved ones, sparking a community-wide conversation about conflict and courage, strength and sacrifice. Through workshops held in collaboration with local veterans service organizations and Houston-based composers, the Veterans Songbook provides a unique opportunity for self-expression to veterans of all ages and backgrounds.
