Please join Houston Poet Laureate, Dr. Robin Davidson, for a celebration of National Poetry Month (April) in this 3-week workshop that explores the power and pleasure of poetry! Each Wednesday class will be devoted to a different element of poetic craft—poetry’s images, rhythms, forms—as well as poetry’s relevance for our personal lives and the historical moment in which we live. The week of Wednesday, April 19, workshop participants are cordially invited to hear U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera read from his work at the University of Houston–Downtown (UHD). All workshops and the Herrera reading are free and open to the public!
Workshop Topics include:
Workshop participants will also receive a free copy of Houston’s Favorite Poems, our city’s forthcoming Favorite Poem Project anthology, upon publication in late spring, early summer.
Class Enrollment Maximum: 25; Please call the library to register.
