October is National Family History Month, and Clayton Library for Genealogical Research invites you to attend several workshops and events so that you can learn to discover and preserve your own family history. Saturday, October 8, 2016 | 11 AM – 3 PM
Do you have friends and family that you think would be interested in genealogy? Then bring them out to Clayton Library’s Open House, where they can be introduced to genealogy by attending introductory genealogy classes, participating in a kids’ scavenger hunt, meeting genealogical societies, talking with historical reenactors, and enjoying refreshments. All activities are free! No reservations required. All ages.
Genealogy after Dark
Friday, October 21, 2016 | 12 PM – 11 PM
Join your fellow researchers for a full day of programming and extended hours for research. Throughout the day computer webinars will be broadcast from libraries across Texas and projected on the Clayton Library Carriage House screen. The last two presentations of the evening will be presented LIVE at Clayton Library by Clayton Library Senior Manager Sue Kaufman: Paying It Forward, Recording OUR stories for Future Ancestors | 8:40 PM -9:30 PM and Genealogy Mecca - Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research | 9:40 PM – 10:40 PM. The library will close at 5 PM and then re-open at 6 PM. Reservations required, you MUST register for “Genealogy After Dark” to attend the extended hours, please call 832-393-2600. Adults/Teens.
