In case you didn't know: summer reading is not just for kids.

We know you are excited about the prizes. We have seen your tweets and liked your Facebook comments. And we know you love to submit your book reviews. It’s time to share this little secret with the rest of Houston! You, as an adult can also participate in our Summer Reading Program, read books, write reviews, come to our cool events and win awesome prizes.

It doesn't matter what you like to read. We've got something for everyone.

So let’s get started:

Sign up. Read. Login and post reviews. Your review must have your opinion and no spoilers please.

Need help figuring out what to read? Check out one of our book clubs.

Here are some titles from our staff to-read list. Make it even sweeter by getting a MY Link library card (if you don’t already have one).

You can also sign up for one of our book themed e-newsletters. Or discover all of our new titles.

Want to know when your favorite authors’ books are available? Set up Author Alerts and receive email notifications.

If you prefer a more personalized interaction, stop by any HPL location and chat with a librarian. We LOVE to talk about books, you know! Don’t have time? No worries. Send us your preferences and we will prepare a custom list for you.

Tell us what you are looking forward to reading this summer. I just finished Luckiest Girl Alive that’s being touted as this year’s Gone Girl and anxiously waiting to read Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman.

Happy summer reading!
