Today, let us take a trip down memory lane to remember how much fun we had here at the Smith Neighborhood Library Living Room. This Living Room allowed the community to come together and celebrate the richness of diversity that lives in the city of Houston. Celebrations kicked off with the key essential ingredients: Food, Music, and Art!
Patrons participated in craft stations for Day of the Dead face mask, face painting, and paper bead jewelry. Beautiful dancers performed traditional African, Indian, and Latin American dances. Patrons also had an opportunity to learn how to dance to Latin American music and had access to Spanish language learning materials.
A special thanks to the International Student and Scholar Services at the University of Houston, Bricklayers Entertainment, Pardon My French 502, Chick-Fil-A, Rodeo Dental, the Mexican Consulate, and our HPL coworkers from other libraries.
Living Room events like this one help to bring the community together by building connections with each other. Keep a watch out for our next Living Room!
