Spring is in the air and so is literacy! Celebrate books, languages and cultures with storytelling, music and fun activities as El día de los niños/El día de los libros, Children’s Day/Book Day festivities bloom at Discovery Green.
Stroll near the Houston Public Library Express location for the second annual Día at Discovery. Award-winning author Monica Brown reads and performs for attendees. Her books include Tito Puente, Mambo King/Tito Puente, Rey del Mambo, Clara and the Curandera/Clara y la curandera and Marisol McDonald Doesn’t Match/Marisol McDonald no combina.
Join in the festivities with a special literary sing-a-long by Arte Público Press Founder and Director Nicolás Kanellos.

Día is a daily commitment to link all children to books, languages and cultures. Founded in 1996 by renowned author Pat Mora, Día is housed at the American Library Association: http://dia.ala.org/. Día celebrations are held across the country on or near April 30th. Presented by Houston Public Library, Arte Público Press, Discovery Green and Writers in the Schools.
